Abstract

Introduction. The article explores the role of research activities as a mechanism for fostering innovative thinking among students in higher education institutions. Key aspects of integrating research activities into the educational process are examined, emphasizing their contribution to enhancing the competitiveness of students.

Objective. To determine effective methodological approaches to organizing students’ research activities and assess their impact on the development of professional competencies in the modern educational environment.

Methods. The study employs analytical, comparative, and inductive methods, as well as modeling and elements of statistical analysis, to substantiate its findings.

Results. The role of generating new ideas in ensuring students’ competitiveness has been explored. It has been proven that integrating innovative thinking and research skills contributes to the professional development of future specialists. Methodologies for developing critical thinking through practical participation in interdisciplinary projects and the use of interactive educational tools have been proposed. It has been demonstrated that students’ involvement in scientific research helps to form competitive advantages in the modern labor market. It is noted that the implementation of such approaches ensures the development of creativity, adaptability, and the ability to work in conditions of uncertainty, which are key competencies in a dynamic economic environment. The author proposes a vision for improving the organization of research activities to develop interdisciplinary competencies in students.

Perspectives. Future research should focus on the impact of digitalization in education on the organization of research activities and the expansion of international collaboration in this field.
