About the Journal

The scientific journal “Herald of Economics” was founded in May 1996. Since 2021, the publication has been issued under its current title as the legal successor to the journal “Bulletin of Ternopil National Economic University” due to the renaming of the higher education institution to West Ukrainian National University.

The founder and publisher of the journal is West Ukrainian National University (EDRPOU 33680120; publisher’s DOI prefix: 10.35774).

The journal is published four times a year (quarterly).

Media identifier: R-30-03228. The publication is registered as a printed and electronic scientific periodical. (Decision of the National Council of Ukraine on Television and Radio Broadcasting dated March 14, 2024, No. 750).

The journal’s ISSN numbers are: 2786-4537 (Print) and 2786-4545 (Online). All issues and individual articles are assigned a DOI under the prefix 10.35774/visnyk.

The journal is included in the List of Scientific Professional Publications of Ukraine, Category “B”, in the field of economic sciences in the following specialties: 051 “Economics”, 071 “Accounting and Taxation”, 072 “Finance, Banking, Insurance and the Stock Market”, 073 “Management”, 075 “Marketing”, 076 “Entrepreneurship and Trade”, 281 “Public Administration and Management”, and 292 “International Economic Relations” (Order of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine dated December 16, 2019, No. 1643).

For many years, the journal has been part of the Ukrainian scientific periodicals system and is indexed in scientometric databases and other resources.

The Editor-in-Chief of the journal is Zenovii-Mykhailo Vasylovych Zadorozhnyi — Honored Worker of Science and Technology of Ukraine, Honorary Professor of West Ukrainian National University, Academician of the Academy of Economic Sciences of Ukraine, Doctor of Economic Sciences, Professor, and Head of the Department of Accounting and Taxation at West Ukrainian National University.

The Editorial Board consists of leading Ukrainian and international scholars in the field of economics. “Herald of Economics” publishes scientific articles in Ukrainian and English; the printed version is distributed in Ukraine, while the electronic version of each issue is available in open and free access.

The aim of the journal is to present the results of fundamental and applied research in the fields of economics, management, accounting, taxation, auditing, economic analysis, and international economic relations. The publication is focused on disseminating modern scientific approaches to the development of the economy, the financial system, entrepreneurship, public administration, and management in the context of the transformation of Ukrainian society.

The related objectives of the journal are to ensure broad representation of the results of fundamental and applied research in various areas of economic science, including economic theory, finance, banking, insurance, the stock market, accounting, taxation, auditing, economic analysis, management, marketing, entrepreneurship, international economic relations, and public administration; as well as to promote the development of interdisciplinary research and the formation of modern scientific approaches to the study of economic processes and phenomena.

Among the important tasks of the journal is also the coverage of current issues and prospects for the development of Ukraine’s economy under conditions of globalization, digitalization, and socio-economic transformation; substantiation of ways to improve the efficiency of public and private institutions; and analysis of current trends in the development of the regional economy, financial system, investment activity, and foreign economic relations.

A separate objective of the publication is to create an open scientific space for professional discussion between Ukrainian and foreign researchers, exchange of experience, development of new scientific concepts, and approaches to solving economic problems. The journal also contributes to the integration of Ukrainian economic science into the international scientific community, dissemination of the best global practices, and enhancement of academic culture.

An important component of the journal’s activities is support for young scholars, postgraduate students, and doctoral candidates by providing them with opportunities to publish the results of their research, participate in scientific discussion, and build a professional environment for the further development of economic science in Ukraine.
